Weight Lifting Plates

Weight Lifting Plates

Weight lifting plates, specifically metal ones, are an important part of a weightlifters arsenal. There is no replacement for heavy iron, and that is why we have chosen quality weight lifting plates that will last the test of time. No sloppy finishes that chip away, no breaking, just good solid metal plates. Take a look at what we recommend from gold to bronze.

TKO Olympic Weight Lifting Plates

The TKO Olympic Rubber Tri-Grip Plate are iron weight lifting plates with a rubber coating.  We like these because they don’t have the stinking odor compared to most other rubberized weight lifting plates (many other rubber plates have a strong odor), and they’re really durable.  Rubberized weights are what you want if you lift in a garage or some other environment that causes metal to rust.  These are also a good choice for indoors since they protect floors and other surfaces from damage since the rubber gives a little bit of cushion.  These weight lifting plates come with free shipping, and you can buy them here

Pendlay Econ V2 Bumper Plates

The Pendlay Econ Version 2 is a great choice for an indoor bumper plate set. These weight lifting plates have a flawless surface area, high durability, and an accurate weight versus the claimed weight. Pendlay claims they are +/- 10 grams of the stated weight, which is an extremely tight tolerance for the price. The reason these are great bumper plates for indoors is that they don’t bounce much and thus are less likely to bounce into furniture/walls/feet. Pendlay Elite Bumper Plates

The Pendlay Elite bumper plates is a big step up from the plates above, both in quality and price. The big difference is the large zinc disc which ensures a tight fit to the bar and high durability. Just like the weight lifting plates above, this is the more traditional olympic weight lifting bumper plate which doesn’t have a big bounce when dropped. This is usually preferred by most Olympic weight lifters because they are frequently working with very heavy weights and don’t want 300 lbs bouncing on their feet. These bumper plates are also guaranteed to be within 10 grams of the claimed weight, and the zinc plated steel disk makes a great fit around the bar so there is no loose fitting. Another really unique thing about these bumpers is that you have a wide variety of coloring options, from black, to two-tone, to full color, and the weight can be in either pounds or kilos.
